Part # Description Notes
WQMx Incorporates Sea-Bird CTD & DO sensors & WET Labs optical sensors into a single instrument depth rated to 200 m. Records Conductivity (salinity), Temperature, Pressure (depth), Dissolved Oxygen, Chlorophyll Fluorescence, CDOM fluorescence, Turbidity & Backscattering. Includes 1 GB memory, RS-232 interface, AF24173 Anti-foulant Devices, data I/O cable, software, & complete documentation. Specify: pressure sensor range (depth), chlorophyll / turbidity / CDOM sensor ranges, and input port configuration selections. See WQM for less expensive instrument that does not include CDOM fluorescence.
WQMx Strain Gauge Pressure Sensor Selections -- MUST SELECT ONE
WQMx-1a 100 m strain gauge pressure sensor Pressure sensor is installed in end cap, & is not field replaceable / swappable. While highest pressure rating gives you most flexibility in using WQMx, it is at expense of accuracy & resolution. It is advantageous to use lowest range pressure sensor compatible with your intended maximum operating depth, because accuracy & resolution are proportional to pressure sensor's full scale range. Comparing 100 & 350 m sensors --
  • 100 m sensor:
    initial accuracy = 0.10 m (= 0.1% * 100 m),
    resolution = 0.002 m (= 0.002% * 100 m)
  • 350 m sensor:
    initial accuracy = 0.35 m (= 0.1% * 350 m),
    resolution = 0.007 m (= 0.002% * 350 m)

Note: Housing is rated to 200 m.

WQMx-1b 350 m strain gauge pressure sensor
WQMx Chlorophyll, Turbidity, CDOM Range Selections -- MUST SELECT ONE
WQMx-2a 30 µg/l, 10 NTU, 375 ppb Fluorometer & turbidity sensor are installed in WQM, & are not field replaceable / swappable. While highest range gives you most flexibility in using WQMx, it is at expense of resolution. It is advantageous to use lowest range sensors compatible with your intended maximum operating depth.
WQMx-2b 50 µg/l, 25 NTU, 375 ppb
WQMx-2c 50 µg/l, 100 NTU, 375 ppb
WQMx-2d 75 µg/l, 200 NTU, 375 ppb
WQMx-2e 250 µg/l, 1000 NTU, 375 ppb
WQMx Input Port Configuration Selections -- MUST SELECT ONE
WQMx-4a One RS-232 serial input channel
WQMx-4b Two A/D channels (0 - 5 volt input range)
