Seasave
V7, an entirely new version of Seasave, was
officially released in 2007. Seasave V7 acquires, converts, and displays real-time or archived raw data from:
- SBE 9plus
- SBE 16 (not in
production since 2001)
- SBE 16plus (not in production since 2008)
- SBE 16plus
V2
- SBE 19 (not in production since 2001)
- SBE 19plus (not in production since 2008)
- SBE 19plus
V2
- SBE 21
- SBE 25 (not in production since 2012)
- SBE
25plus
- SBE 45
- SBE 49
Improvements over the previous Windows versions
include:
- More robust data acquisition / increased stability with a new architecture
for data acquisition.
Note: Seasave V7 is actually two applications -- Seasave.exe automatically
launches SeasaveAcq.exe when data acquisition is commanded to start, and both
programs run simultaneously on the same computer, communicating via TCP/IP sockets.
- Easier-to-use and more intuitive user interface.
- Support for transmission of data and remote bottle
firing over TCP/IP.
- Better graphics, including the ability to have different plot colors for
downcast and upcast.
- An unlimited number of displays can be active on the
desktop at once (within the limitations of your computer's resources).
Displays can be added, deleted, and modified without interrupting data
acquisition.
- Output from an SBE 9plus CTD integrated with an
SBE 11plus Deck Unit is now saved as a .hex file (was previously saved
as a binary .dat file).
- Support for pressure, altimeter, and bottom contact
switch alarms in the computer running Seasave.
The instrument configuration file format (.con)
is
preserved from the New Style Configuration
in the previous Windows version, so existing .con files can be used without
modification. And, the archived data format is
preserved from the previous Windows version, so existing .dat and .hex files can be
played back without modification.
Seasave V7's use is covered in its Help menu as well as in
a software manual (see Manual link at top of page).
Seasave V7 was written for use on systems running
Windows XP service pack 2 or later, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.
If you discover reproducible bugs in
Seasave V7, please document the steps taken to achieve them and send a report to
David Goldsmith (dgoldsmith@seabird.com). We welcome any suggestions for new features and
enhancements.
Note:
