Notes:
|
||
SBE 55 6-Bottle Option | ||||
55-1 | Upgrade to 6-bottle system – add one 3-position lanyard release array, cable, & three 4-liter ECO sample bottles |
55-1 includes lanyard release module, cable to connect it to ECM, three 4-liter bottles, & band clamps to attach bottles to mounting brackets. |

SBE 55 Wet-Pluggable Connector Options (aluminum ECM end cap)
55-2a | 3-bottle system with aluminum ECM end cap: Wet-Pluggable connectors instead of Standard connectors on 55 & cables |
Wet-pluggable connectors may be mated in wet conditions. Their pins do not need to be dried before mating. By design, water on connector pins is forced out as connector is mated. However, they must not be mated or un-mated while submerged. Wet-pluggable connectors have a non-conducting guide pin to assist pin alignment (exception: 6-pin connectors) & require less force to mate, making them easier to mate reliably under dark or cold conditions, compared to our standard (Impulse XSG/RMG) connectors. Like standard connectors, wet-pluggables need proper lubrication & require care during use to avoid trapping water in sockets.
If planning to use SBE 55 for autonomous
operation (no conducting wire; bottles close based on pre-programmed
pressures or times), we strongly recommend wet-pluggable connectors.
You must connect to SBE 55 on deck after each deployment to re-arm
auto-fire mechanism. Wet-pluggable connectors provide better
reliability given potential for rain, wave splash, etc. |
||
55-2b | 6-bottle system with aluminum ECM end cap: Wet-Pluggable connectors instead of Standard connectors on 55 & cables
SBE 55 Titanium End Cap & Connector Upgrade Options (better corrosion resistance, less maintenance)
55-3a | 3-bottle system: Titanium ECM end cap with Wet-pluggable connectors (ECM, release array, & cables) instead of aluminum ECM end cap |
|
||
55-3b | 6-bottle system: Titanium ECM end cap with Wet-pluggable connectors (ECM, release array, & cables) instead of aluminum ECM end cap
SBE 55 CTD Integration Options
55-4a | CTD integration (Standard Connectors), SBE 19/19plus/19plus V2, includes CTD mount brackets & CTD to ECM cable |
CTD integration options provide
appropriate mounts & interface cables for system.
Note regarding third party sensors: These integration options do not include mounting third party sensors. For mounting third party sensors, contact Sea-Bird (Third Party product configuration page will be updated in future to list ECO mounting options). |
||
55-4b | CTD integration (Standard Connectors), SBE 25, includes CTD housing mount brackets, T, C, & P sensor mounts, & CTD to ECM cable
55-4c | CTD integration (Wet-pluggable Connectors), SBE 19/19plus/19plus V2, includes CTD mount brackets & CTD to ECM cable
55-4d | CTD integration (Wet-pluggable Connectors), SBE 25, includes CTD housing mount brackets, T, C, & P sensor mounts, & CTD to ECM cable
SBE 55 Spares & Accessories
801511 | 9 NiMH cells in rechargeable drop-in pack (10.8V/8 Ah) |
|
||
90504 | NiMH battery charger for 6, 9, or 12 cells / 8 Ah D-cell packs. Provides full recharge in 2 hours, includes AC power cord & battery charging cable
17088 | Cable, ECM to release latch array, Standard connectors, 1.1 m (DN 30567) |
From Electronics Control Module (ECM) to
latch release module; 1 cable required for each 3-position latch
release module.
|
||
171792 | Cable, ECM to release latch array, Wet-Pluggable connectors, 1.1 m (DN 32810)
172302 | Data I/O extender cable for SBE 55, Standard connectors, 0.7 m (DN 33233) |
6-pin female end connects to Electronics
Control Module (ECM) end cap; 4-pin male end connects to data I/O cable.
Leave
extender cable connected to ECM, & make connection to data I/O cable at end of
extension (instead of at end cap, which is crowded with a number of
connectors & may be difficult to access).
|
||
172303 | Data I/O extender cable for SBE 55, Wet-pluggable connectors, 0.7 m (DN 33234)
801436 | Data I/O cable, Auto Fire Module or 55 ECM, Standard connector (RMG-4FS) to DB-9S, shielded, 20 m (DN 32808) |
From data I/O extender cable to
computer, for setting up system & downloading data.
|
||
801460 | Data I/O cable, Auto Fire Module or 55 ECM, Wet-pluggable connector (MCIL-4FS) to DB-9S, shielded, 20 m (DN 32861)
172259 | Cable, ECM to CTD (19/19plus/19plus V2/25), Standard connectors, 1.2 m (DN 33191) |
From Electronics Control Module (ECM) to
SBE 19, 19plus, 19plus V2, 25, or 49 CTD, or SBE 50
Pressure Sensor.
|
||
172260 | Cable, ECM to CTD (19/19plus/19plus V2/25), Wet-Pluggable connectors, 1.2 m (DN 33192)
17120 | 2-pin sea cable extension, Standard connectors, 2 m (DN 30588) |
Female end connects to Electronics
Control Module (ECM) end cap; male end connects to sea cable. Many users leave
extension connected to ECM, & make connection to sea cable at end of
extension (instead of at end cap, which is crowded with a number of
connectors & may be difficult to access).
|
||
171743 | 2-pin sea cable extension, Wet-Pluggable connectors, 2 m (DN 32763)
801714 | 4-liter ECO water sample bottle (spare) |
ECO water sample bottle is uniquely
designed for ECO Sampler. Several early production models of ECO were sold with Ocean Test Equipment (OTE) bottles instead of PN 801714 ECO 4-liter bottles. PN 50424, 50425, 50426, 50427, & 50430 cannot be used with OTE bottles. For bottle repair kit for OTE bottles, order PN 50135 OTE bottle repair kit instead of PN 50427. Note: Each bottle comes with materials needed for lanyards (nylon monofilament line, brass hook, nicopress sleeves, & plastic lanyard ball).
|
||
50427 | Bottle repair kit, for Sea-Bird ECO Sampler bottles (includes O-ring kit, 2 end plugs, latex rubber power cord (1.2 m), drain valve assembly, air vent, monofilament (6.1 m), brass hook, nicopress sleeves, 2 polyethylene balls) (document 67185)
