SEASOFT for Waves includes all the functions incorporated in SEASOFT for Waves - DOS, except for batch file processing. Features that were accessed in the DOS software using command line arguments have been incorporated in the dialog boxes for the Windows software, simplifying processing. Users will find the Windows terminal program module, SeatermW, a big improvement over the DOS terminal program, Term26, which did not perform well on computers running a Windows operating system. SEASOFT for Waves - DOS is not compatible with the SBE 26plus or the SBE 53.
Online Help is available with SEASOFT for Waves.
SEASOFT for Waves was written for use on systems running Win 95/98/NT/2000/XP; testing using Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32-bit) has not shown any compatibility problems.
If you discover reproducible bugs in SEASOFT for Waves, please document the steps taken to achieve them and send a report via e-mail to jbackes@seabird.com or Fax 425-643-9954 to John Backes. We welcome any suggestions for new features and enhancements.
NOTE
The instrument calibration coefficient (.cfg) files created by the DOS-based terminal
program Term26 cannot be used by SEASOFT for Waves. If implementing SEASOFT for Waves for an existing
SBE 26 that was set up with Term26, record the
calibration coefficients from
Term26, and then re-enter the coefficients in SEASOFT for Waves' Convert Hex
module.
